Air Conditioning Repair
As you can see from these pictures there are two different air flow issues that could be causing your discomfort in your home or business.
The supply plenum supplies the conditioned air to your duct work that distributes the air into the living space or work space. If it is losing that cooled or heated conditioned air into the attic the system will never perform up to it’s ability.
The return plenum pulls the conditioned air back into your heating or cooling system to be reconditioned to the desired temperature you have set at the thermostat. If the return air is pulling in unconditioned air from the attic it will never be able to perform during extreme outdoor weather.
So have your heating and cooling system inspected every season to insure your system is not trying to do something it can’t do. Heat and or Cool outdoor air!
Your system will thank you and your pocket book will thank you for the lower utility bills and most of all for your improved COMFORT!

The attached picture is of a recent installation of a Trane 4-ton Gas – A/C packaged system. The new Trane HVAC system replaced a 20 year old system that was no longer an asset to the company. In fact it had become a liability in the cost for seasonal repairs and in the amount of energy it was using to heat and cool the business.
After analyzing the information for the new system compared to keeping the old system. The company realized that the payback for the investment in the new system would be less than 7 years. After the 7 year period the energy and service savings would be added to the their longterm profit. And with a reliability and durablity of a new Trane system their customers and employees would be comfortable for years to come, as well!
If you have a need for light commercial HVAC service, please call (405)618-2247 today for a free quote or estimate to replace or repair your existing HVAC system. You may also visit airokc.com for additional imformation.

- Outdoor Fan is not working or the indoor fan is not working or both!
- The outdoor coil or indoor coil is dirty and needs to be cleaned!
- There is a restriction in the refrigerant lines or a faulty refrigerant metering device.

The easiest way to tell if you have a Heat Pump is to look at your thermostat and look at the options you have. If your thermostat has a switch for Auxiallary Heat or Emergency (Back-up) Heat you more than likely have a Heat Pump installed in your home or business. The next way to determine if you a Heat Pump is to set your thermostat to Heat and walk to your outiside unit. If your outside unit is running with the thermostat set to Heat you have a Heat Pump. If you switch the thermostat to Aux or Emergency Heat the outdoor unit should power off and the back-up heat will begin to work and you should feel warm air coming from your vents. These are just some basic steps to review the type of HVAC system you may have and is not infallable, but it can steer you in the right direction. The example you see above is an extreme example, but a often seen issue in homes and businesses. A furnace will cycle on and off very rapidly if a dirty air filter is present. This leads to premature failure of equipment, increased energy use and decreases the level of comfort in your home or business. Air handlers with heat pumps or electric heat strips will experience similar issues if a dirty air filter is present.
An air filter must be changed based on it’s design and enviroment. The design and make of the air filter may call for a change every 30 days or in some cases every 90 days. If the environment is unusual in that a lot of dust or dirt is present then the air filter may need to be changed more frequently. i.e. weekly.
What ever the case may be for your hvac system and it’s air filteration system. Changing your air filters is always a positive way to save money and to improve your comfort!
