Air Conditioning Repair Midwest City
The attached pictures are of Trane equipment. The outdoor A/C unit was in installed in 1984 and has been in service for 31 years. The thermostat was installed 1977 and has been in service for over 38 years. Is this typical?
How long can I expect my A/C – HVAC Equipment to last? That is a very good question and can be challenging to answer.
But, here are some averages:
Condensing Unit – Outdoor A/C Unit = 15 years. (How much it is used and the environment it is in makes all the difference!)
Heat Pump – A/C Outdoor Unit = 12 years. (Double duty for heating and cooling your home.)
Thermostat = 5 years. (Who uses it? Home Owners, Children, Employees, the general public? They all make the difference!)
Gas Furnace = 18 years. ( Once again is determined by usage, environment and how it’s configured with the overall heating needs of the structure it is heating.)
Air Handler w/Electric Heat = 10 years for the electric heat strips and 18 years for the air handler it’s self. (How and where is it used, environment, set-up with heat pump or whether it is used with regular a/c unit all determine its life span.)
Manufactures typically give a life span of 12 to 15 years to most HVAC Equipment. The key to system longevity is regular maintenance by experienced HVAC professionals like A.I.R. llc. With proper care, your air conditioning system can last from 15 to 20 years; a gas furnace can run for up to 25 years.
> The information provided for average life spans of HVAC equipment came from ASHRAE Equipment Life Expectancy Chart and from leading manufacturers. <

The attached picture is of a recent installation of a Trane 4-ton Gas – A/C packaged system. The new Trane HVAC system replaced a 20 year old system that was no longer an asset to the company. In fact it had become a liability in the cost for seasonal repairs and in the amount of energy it was using to heat and cool the business.
After analyzing the information for the new system compared to keeping the old system. The company realized that the payback for the investment in the new system would be less than 7 years. After the 7 year period the energy and service savings would be added to the their longterm profit. And with a reliability and durablity of a new Trane system their customers and employees would be comfortable for years to come, as well!

Doing Life is tough! Doing life and dealing with all the small, but important issues is tough as well, including your Heating and Air Conditioning needs!
I’ve been asked recently about the bibical verse posted on the A.I.R. website, business cards, advertisement and service van and wanted to take a moment to explain it’s purpose.
As a Christian and follower of Christ I wanted to share my faith and values openly, inside and outside the business. The verse John 14:1 says “Do not let you hearts be troubled, trust in God and me also.” From the beginning of my desire to own and operate a business I knew it would only be successful if the Lord himself wanted it to be. And I would have to trust him no matter what with the outcome.
Also, I’m an American Patriot! When we say “In God we Trust!” I believe this country was founded on just that! That is, the Trust of the Lord himself! Our founding fathers and those that framed the constitution stepped out on faith and the trust they had in God! Not the trust in their own abilties, but in the faith and trust in their God!
I know the business itself is a blessing from God! And I know that when we do business with any of our customers it is blessing to serve you and blessing to our family from God!
And in Him and only Him do I/ we Trust!
God Bless You and America!

A frozen Air-Conditioning Unit is common! Several common issues my cause your air conditioner to have frost on the copper refrigerant lines on the outdoor unit or on the indoor unit. Why? Here is a small list:
- Filters are dirty and the air flow over the evaporator coil is being restricted.
- A/C charge is low. Which means there is a possbile leak!
- A/C is over charged. Which means there is a root cause of a problem and a technician did not catch it or look for it!
- Outdoor Fan is not working or the indoor fan is not working or both!
- The outdoor coil or indoor coil is dirty and needs to be cleaned!
- There is a restriction in the refrigerant lines or a faulty refrigerant metering device.
This list is not all inclusive of the potential problems that can cause an air conditioner to freeze up! But, it is the most common issues found in the HVAC field.
Call 405-618-2247 today if you need profesional help to stop the freezing and get the cool comfortable air flowing in your home or business today!
The easiest way to tell if you have a Heat Pump is to look at your thermostat and look at the options you have. If your thermostat has a switch for Auxiallary Heat or Emergency (Back-up) Heat you more than likely have a Heat Pump installed in your home or business. The next way to determine if you a Heat Pump is to set your thermostat to Heat and walk to your outiside unit. If your outside unit is running with the thermostat set to Heat you have a Heat Pump. If you switch the thermostat to Aux or Emergency Heat the outdoor unit should power off and the back-up heat will begin to work and you should feel warm air coming from your vents. These are just some basic steps to review the type of HVAC system you may have and is not infallable, but it can steer you in the right direction. To be sure always contact an HVAC Contractor /Professional. Heat Pumps are very energy efficient and have proven to be a reliable piece of HVAC Equipment. If you understand the basic functions of your Heat Pump it will reduce the energy cost of heating your home or business and it will provide you with many years of service. Call A.I.R. at 405-618-2247 if you need assistance with any of your Heating System needs or need a Free estimate for replacing or repairing your Heating System. Thank You for the Blessing of considering A.I.R. for your HVAC needs!
This picture displays an actual blower motor and blower wheel removed from a furnace. The dirt and the build up on the blower wheel is obvious. What you can’t see is the energy cost increasing everyday the furnace operates with out being cleaned and or serviced properly. The dirt build up on the blower decreases it’s designed capacity to provide sufficient air flow to your home. Which in turn does not allow the air temperature to be maintained at a comfortable and consistent level. Therefore the HVAC system runs longer and works harder to provide the desired set temperature on the thermostat. This is why the energy cost to operate it continues to climb year after year!
Another by product of a dirty blower motor and blower wheel is the reduced life of the HVAC equipment! The HVAC equipment will need to run and operate longer to meet it’s demands. HVAC equipment replacement cost are not going down, only up!
Lastly your lack of comfort is the end result! Financially and Physically!
Call 405-618-2247 today and speak to a comfort specialist at A.I.R. to discuss a semi-annual check-up of your HVAC System. It will be one of the best investments you can make in 2014.
